Twelve Horses' Approach to Community Philanthropy, Sponsorship and Volunteering
Our Philosophy
Businesses do not operate within a vacuum. They rely on the support and infrastructure of their community, and the people and government that steer them. For this reason, Twelve Horses supports many non-profits and professional organizations within our communities and industry. Understanding that we cannot support all of them, we purposefully work with organizations that are congruent with our brand and where our employees find motivation and room for growth.
As a brand known for its strength of character, and its power, speed, intelligence and creativity, Twelve Horses is continuously approached by organizations for partnering and/or donating money, products and services.
As much as we have a desire to help every organization seeking Twelve Horses' resources, we are careful and selective to only partner with organizations and causes that represent the "right match" for our brand, and ones that create opportunity and/or rewarding growth experiences for members of the Twelve Horses team.
Consistent with why our clients choose to work with us, we remain focused on achieving results for the organizations we partner with. For that reason, we are very critical and selective with our relationship choices.
Our Strategy
Twelve Horses resources (dollars, products, services, volunteers) are earmarked towards supporting non-profit grassroots and professional organizations consistent with "Our Philosophy." On occasion, we help organizations and/or individuals that have an extra-special connection to our business or an employee of our business, typically dealing with a tragedy or emergency. (See "Types of Organizations")
Evaluating Criteria
Criteria that we use to review a potential partnership with a community not-for-profit include:
- Opportunity for a Twelve Horses team member with a long-term commitment to Twelve Horses to participate within the non-profit or professional organization as a leader. This may include participating by chairing a committee or as an advisory board member, director and/or officer.
- The organization demonstrates a strong commitment towards developing a community-based social network of leaders and creates opportunities to enhance our professional and personal relationships with others in the community.
- Alignment with our target "Types of Organizations".
- Involvement creates opportunity and fertile ground for finding, connecting and recruiting future Twelve Horses team members that share in our same passions and sense of community.
- Enhanced opportunities for public awareness and visible attention to issues, interests and emerging industry that is relevant to our healthy and sustainable business growth.
- Prioritized towards grassroots, startups and/or tightly focused on the local community/economy.
- A-political non-party affiliation. Twelve Horses derives much of its strength by way of its desire for diversity and tolerance of individuality and thought. Therefore, if the organization derives the majority of its brand recognition and/or reputation from strong political identification, it will more often than not be intolerant of the diverse thought and opinions of our team members.
